چکیده

Radioisotopes of cesium are powerful tracer for oceanographic studies. In this work, a novel method was developed determination ultra-low level 135Cs and 137Cs in seawater using triple-quadrupole inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS/MS). Cesium pre-concentrated from up to 45 L samples ammonium molybdophosphate (AMP) adsorption, following selective leaching Sr(OH)2. The further purified interfering elements AMP-PAN cation-exchange chromatography. Sr(OH)2 found be an effective approach exchange the AMP sorbent without dissolution, which avoids problem separation huge amount NH4+ MoO42− steps. decontamination factors barium rubidium with were more than 4 × 107 800, respectively. separated measured ICP-MS/MS by employing N2O as reaction gas elimination isobaric (i.e. 135Ba 137Ba) polyatomic ions interferences. A detection limit 1.5 10−16 g L−1 achieved. concentrations Baltic Sea, Danish straits Roskilde Fjord determined identify sources 135Cs, water masses region investigated 137Cs.

Selective Separation and Preconcentration of trace Amounts of Gallium in Water and Rice Samples using Cloud Point Extraction and Determination by Inductively Coupled Plasma-Atomic Emission Spectrometry

In the present study a cloud-point extraction process using non-ionic surfactant Triton X-114 for selective extraction of gallium from aqueous solutions was developed. The method is based on the complex formation of Ga (III) with N, N′ -bis (salycilidene)-1, 2-phenylenediamine (salophen) as a chelating agent in buffer media of pH 5. After phase separation and dilution of the surfactant-rich pha...

Determination of Silicate in Seawater by Inductively Coupled Plasma Atomic Emission Spectrometry

Inductively Coupled Plasma Atomic Emission Spectrometry (ICP) was adopted for direct analysis of silicate in seawater, eliminating necessity for pre-treatment. Via this method, the determination of silicate is rapid and easy compared with conventional methods of colorimetry. In seawater analysis, a decrease of sensitivity of about 24% was observed due to interference by coexisting elements, mai...

Determination of Lead and Strontium Isotope Ratios in Wines by Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry

Thirteen wine assortments from Romania were investigated from the point of view of their metal content and isotopic ratios Pb/Pb and Sr/Sr. The determination was performed by ICP-QMS. The aim of this study was to detect and quantitatively determine the toxic metals in some white and red wine samples and to investigate them from the point of view of isotopic ratios Pb/Pb and Sr/Sr. Six metals wi...

Urinary iodine: comparison of a simple method for its determination in microplates with measurement by inductively-coupled plasma mass spectrometry

The aim of our study was to develop and validate an inexpensive, rapid, easy to use quantitative method to determine urinary iodine without major procurement costs for equipment. The rationale behind introducing this method is the increasing demand for urinary iodine assessments. Our study included 103 patients (76 female, 27 male), age (arithmetic mean) 52 ± 17.3 years. Urinary iodine was dete...
